14 police officials suspended for allegedly facilitating drug traffickers

PESHAWAR, May 08: the Peshawar Police department has suspended 14 officials, including a police officer, Station House Officer (SHO), Additional SHO, two outpost in-charges, and constables, for allegedly facilitating drug traffickers.
The action was taken by SSP Operations Kashif Zulfiqar, who confirmed that the suspended officials have been "brought to the line and charge-sheeted" for their involvement with drug traffickers.
According to SSP Zulfiqar, the officials have been presented with a detailed charge sheet outlining their alleged misconduct. The specific details of the charges have not been made public, but the swift action by the police department suggests serious allegations of aiding and abetting illegal drug activity.
This incident highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Pakistan. Law enforcement agencies are increasingly taking a zero-tolerance approach to corruption within their ranks, recognizing the detrimental impact it has on public safety and national security.
He said that the suspension of these officials sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
