24-Year-old woman killed as burqa caught in motorcycle wheel
KARACHI, June 30: In a tragic accident near the Chase Up Store under the Gulshan Nipa flyover, a young woman lost her life after her burqa became entangled in the wheel of a motorcycle.
The victim, identified as 24-year-old Elia Dakhtar Zulfikar, was traveling with her father when the incident occurred. As her burqa caught in the motorcycle's wheel, she was thrown onto the road and subsequently run over by an unidentified vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately, leaving Zulfikar critically injured.
Chhepa volunteers promptly arrived at the scene and transported her body to Jinnah Hospital. Rescue officials confirmed her identity and detailed the unfortunate sequence of events that led to her untimely death.
Authorities are currently gathering more information about the incident to track down the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
In a separate incident on Pakistan Road, a young man was killed in a traffic accident while riding a motorcycle. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. The accident occurred due to a collision with an unknown vehicle, and Gulberg Police are investigating to uncover further details.
