3 more children die with pneumonia in Bahawalpur
BAHAWALPUR, Feb 17: Three more children have succumbed to pneumonia infection at Bahawal Victoria Hospital within the past 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths from the illness this year to 37. This concerning development has sparked alarm among healthcare professionals and the local community.
Dr. Amir Bukhari, Medical Superintendent of Bahawal Victoria Hospital, confirmed the rising death toll and expressed deep concern over the situation. He revealed that the hospital's emergency ward and baby ward are witnessing a surge in the number of children suffering from pneumonia, with the current count reaching 37.
While the specific reasons behind the increase in pneumonia cases and deaths remain unclear, Dr. Bukhari emphasized the need for immediate action to address this critical issue.
