A powerful monsoon spell has struck various parts of the country

Heavy monsoon rains have swept across various parts of the country, leaving many low-lying areas submerged and affected.
In the provincial capital, Lahore, moderate to heavy showers fell late into the night, bringing a refreshing change to the weather. Residents of Abbot Road, Shimla Pahari, Qartaba Chowk, Ichra, Ferozepur Road, Garden Town, Township, Thokar Niaz Baig, Johar Town, and Canal Road woke up to the pleasant aftermath of the rain, enjoying a breath of fresh air after a night of downpours.

The twin cities, Islamabad/Rawalpindi also experienced significant rainfall, which caused the water levels in Nullah Lai to rise. The authorities had to open the spillways of Rawal Dam as the rain showed no signs of letting up, a move aimed at managing the increasing water levels.

Karachi, the port city, saw continued rainfall, which brought a moderate change in the weather. Areas such as Old City Tower, M.A. Jinnah Road, Gulistan-e-Johar, Liaqatabad, Karimabad, Safoora, North Karachi, and Nazimabad were drenched with varying intensities of rain. In Sindh, low-lying districts like Hyderabad, Badin, Jamshoro, Mitiari, Golarchi, and Thatta were inundated. In Thatta, several mud houses were washed away, and Nawabshah and Sanghar also experienced intermittent rains.
