ANF arrests 7, seizes over 59kg of narcotics in 6 nationwide operations

ISLAMABAD, May 18: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized a significant amount of drugs in six different operations conducted across the country, arresting seven suspects in the process.
According to the ANF spokesperson, these operations have led to the seizure of more than 59 kg of drugs and 335,880 narcotic tablets.
The ANF's vigilance at Karachi port uncovered a major haul, with a staggering 3,35,880 narcotic tablets intercepted from a container. Additionally, in another operation near the Sangjani Toll Plaza in Islamabad, 19.2 kg of hashish, 1.2 kg of opium, and 1.2 kg of ice were seized, leading to the apprehension of three suspects.

Further operations yielded significant results as well. In Kohat Road, Peshawar, the ANF team recovered 15.6 kg of hashish and detained one individual. Similarly, near the Okara bypass, 9.6 kg of hashish and 4.8 kg of opium were confiscated from two suspects. In Dera Ismail Khan, another 7.2 kg of hashish was seized during an operation.

Highlighting the relentless efforts of the ANF, the spokesperson revealed the interception of 75 grams of cocaine from a parcel destined for Karachi from Lahore Airport. The ANF has initiated investigations into these cases, registering charges against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
