ANF seize 125kg narcotics, arrests16 in 9 operations
RAWALPINDI, May 09: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 125 kilograms of narcotics and arrested 16 suspects in 9 operations.
According to a statement issued from ANF headquarters in Rawalpindi, 1.2 kilograms of heroin was seized from a parcel sent to a courier office in Rawalpindi destined for the UK.
In Hayatabad, Peshawar, during 2 operations, 3 suspects including Afghan nationals were arrested with 6 kilograms of hashish, 1.4 kilograms of heroin, 43,000 ecstasy tablets, and 63,000 other intoxicating pills along with weapons.
Near Turkey Toll Plaza in Jhelum, during 2 operations, 4 suspects were arrested with 208 bottles of liquor and 1.2 kilograms of hashish. Near Chowk 26, Islamabad, during 2 operations, 4 suspects were arrested with 628 grams of opium, 168 grams of heroin, 14.4 kilograms of hashish, and 350 grams of ice.
In Kasur, 2 kilograms of heroin were seized from 2 suspects, and in Multan, 1 kilogram of ice was seized from 2 suspects. According to an ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have been initiated.
