ATC Grants Bail to Bushra Bibi in November 26 Protest Cases

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has granted bail to Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, in connection with two cases related to the November 26 protest. The court hearing took place on Monday, with Judge Abusl-Hasanat Zulqarnain presiding over the proceedings.

Court Directs Inclusion in Investigation

During the session, Bushra Bibi’s legal representatives, Ansar Kiyani and Shamsa Kiyani, requested an exemption from her personal appearance. The court granted bail but also directed that Bushra Bibi be included in the ongoing investigation of the cases. The court adjourned the hearing until June 11, 2025, to allow for further developments.

The two cases against Bushra Bibi have been registered at the Secretariat Police Station and the Karachi Company Police Station in Islamabad. These cases are linked to the violent protests that took place on November 26, 2024, which were associated with political unrest.

While the legal battle continues, Bushra Bibi’s case has garnered significant media attention due to her high-profile position as the former first lady of Pakistan and her association with the PTI leadership. The court’s decision to include her in the investigation process marks a key development in the legal proceedings surrounding the protest-related cases.

The next hearing is scheduled for mid-June, where further legal actions and outcomes are expected.
