Champions League resumes talks between England, Australia, and India Boards

DUBAI, April 03: The Lahore High Court recently witnessed discussions aimed at reviving the Champions League, with representatives from England, Australia, and India cricket boards initiating dialogue.
According to media reports, Victoria Nick Cummins, CEO of Cricket Victoria, expressed determination to find a window for hosting the prestigious tournament, which saw six editions of T20 cricket between 2009 and 2014.

The last season of the Cricket Champions League was played in 2014, with the Indian franchise Chennai Super Kings emerging victorious. Comyns reminisced that the league was ahead of its time during its previous run, lacking the vigor evident in today's T20 cricket landscape. In the 2014 edition, three teams from India, two from Australia and South Africa each, and one from Pakistan, New Zealand, and the West Indies participated.

From 2009 to 2014, the tournament was held four times in India and twice in South Africa. Comyns highlighted the challenge of finding a window in a cricket-packed calendar to host the tournament. Unlike other leagues where Indian players don't participate, and Pakistani players don't play in the Indian Premier League, there's no match for the Champions League, where the best players from all countries will compete.
