Chief Justice administers oath to three new Supreme Court Judges

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa presided over the swearing-in ceremony of three newly appointed judges at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, marking a significant judicial milestone.
During the ceremony, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa administered the oath to Justice Malik Shahzad, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan, in the presence of Supreme Court judges, the Attorney General, and esteemed members of the legal fraternity.
The Ministry of Law and Justice had issued a notification following the President's approval, appointing Justice Aqeel Abbasi from the Sindh High Court, Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed from the Lahore High Court, and Lahore Judge Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan to the Supreme Court.
Additionally, Dr. Qubla Ayaz was sworn in as an ad hoc judge for the Sharia Appellate Bench, completing the bench under the auspices of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
Meanwhile, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice, pending the Judicial Commission of Pakistan's appointment of a permanent Chief Justice. Similarly, Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui has assumed the role of Acting Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, appointed by the President of Pakistan.
These appointments underscore the judiciary's commitment to ensuring robust and effective judicial governance in Pakistan.
