Commissioner launches direct monitoring of anti-dengue teams to boost efforts
MULTAN, Oct 03: Commissioner Multan Division, Maryam Khan, has announced the direct monitoring of anti-dengue teams to enhance their performance in the field. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Waseem Hamid Sandhu and Assistant Commissioner City Abdul Sami, the commissioner visited various areas to review surveillance activities and engage with local residents about the teams' efforts.
She emphasized that comprehensive sweeping of all identified hotspots is underway. "Teams must be visibly active in the field, and any false reporting will not be tolerated," she warned. Furthermore, strict action will be taken against officials if dengue cases emerge from areas previously declared clear.
The health department teams have been directed to survey homes, tire shops, and graveyards. Deputy Commissioner Sandhu added that commercial sites responsible for breeding dengue larvae are being sealed. Religious leaders have also been urged to raise awareness about dengue prevention in Friday sermons.
