Islamabad, The disclosure of Dubai property leaks unveils Pakistani ownership of properties worth $11 billion, among nearly $400 billion owned by non-residents in Dubai. The leaks implicate several political figures, government officials, and retired bureaucrats worldwide. Pakistani nationals rank second among foreign property buyers in Dubai, with 17,000 Pakistanis owning 23,000 properties, as revealed in the Dubai Leaks. Notable names include President Asif Zardari's three children and the inclusion of former President General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in the property registry. Additionally, the leaks expose the ownership of properties by the families of Hussain Nawaz Sharif and Senator Faisal Vawda. Moreover, properties owned by members of the National Assembly from Balochistan and Sindh are also included in the leaks. Indian citizens lead as the largest foreign property buyers in Dubai, with 29,700 Indians owning 35,000 properties valued at approximately $17 billion, according to the Dubai Leaks. The data, shared by the Advanced Studies Center in Washington, unveils the ownership of properties by 8,500 Saudis in Dubai, amounting to $8 billion. The Dubai Leaks data was shared with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, leading to the identification of criminals, fugitives, and political figures involved in property ownership. The investigative project involved the collaboration of reporters from 74 media outlets across 58 countries, leading to the identification of individuals purchasing properties in Dubai.
