ECP Summons 40 Political Leaders Over Campaign Expense Details today
ISLAMABAD, June 05: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned leaders from 40 political parties today for failing to submit detailed accounts of their campaign expenses from the recent general elections.
The ECP had earlier issued notices demanding expenditure reports, which remain unsubmitted, prompting today's summons.
Prominent figures called in include BNP President Akhtar Mengal, PTI Ideological leader Akhtar Iqbal Dar, and Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party President, former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. Other notable leaders summoned are ANP President Asfandyar Wali, Jamshed Dasti of the Awami Raj Party, QL's Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and Raja Abbas Nasir of the MWM.
The ECP's action underscores the importance of financial transparency and accountability in electoral processes, as it seeks to ensure compliance with legal requirements by all political entities involved.
