ECP set up Election Monitoring and Control Center (EMCC) for public

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 : The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has inaugurated the Election Monitoring and Control Center (EMCC) to facilitate public engagement and address concerns promptly.

ECP spokesperson on Wednesday revealed that citizens can now reach out to the EMCC to register complaints and provide feedback related to the electoral process. Trained staff has been strategically appointed at various levels to ensure the swift resolution of issues raised by the public.

The EMCC features control centers operating at four different tiers, including provincial, divisional, and district levels, in addition to the Election Commission Secretariat in Islamabad. This multi-tiered approach aims to streamline the registration of complaints and expedite their resolution.

To facilitate easy communication, individuals can contact the EMCC through the dedicated email address complaints@ecp.gov.pk. Furthermore, complaints can be submitted via WhatsApp at the designated number 0327-5050610. To enhance accessibility, a specific helpline with the contact number 111-327-000 has also been established.

The EMCC will initially operate from 8 am to 6 pm. However, starting mid-January 2024, the center will transition to round-the-clock operations, providing continuous support until the polling day on February 8 and the subsequent receipt of election results.

In addition to its primary functions, the control center boasts social media and electronic media monitoring capabilities to stay abreast of public sentiment and concerns. Citizens are also encouraged to send complaints via fax to the number 051-9204403.
