Election Anticipation in Islamabad Leads to 4-Day Holidays Announcement

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad has declared a 4-day holiday in the federal capital in anticipation of the scheduled elections on February 8, 2024.

According to the notification issued by the DC Islamabad, all educational institutions in Islamabad will remain closed from February 6 to February 9, 2024.

Following approval from the Federal Secretary of Education, the DC Islamabad has issued a notification granting holidays in educational institutions.

Prior to this, provincial governments in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had also announced 4-day holidays in educational institutions in anticipation of the elections.

Details from the notification by the DC Islamabad state that general elections are set to take place nationwide on February 8, 2024.

The notification mentions that to maintain the arrangements for elections and ensure security, all educational institutions in Islamabad will remain closed from February 6 to February 9, 2024.

The notification further states that the Federal Secretary of Education has given approval for these holidays.

Earlier, the provincial governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had also announced 4-day holidays in educational institutions in anticipation of the elections.

According to the notification issued by the Sindh government, all educational institutions in Sindh will remain closed from February 5 to February 8, 2024.

As per the notification from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, all educational institutions in the province will be closed from February 6 to February 9, 2024.
