Election Commission Cracks Down on Violations, Issues Fines to Candidates
Islamabad, The Election Commission of Pakistan has initiated actions against ethical violations by candidates in the ongoing election campaign. Notices and fines have been issued against those found breaching the electoral code of conduct.
In Council Puran Abdul Moeed, Chairman of Tehsil Council, was fined Rs. 30,000 for violating ethical guidelines. Similarly, Chairman of Tehsil Council Basham Saeed ur Rahman faced a Rs. 20,000 penalty for similar infractions.
The Election Commission's monitoring teams are actively overseeing the electoral activities in Punjab. In Multan's NA-153 constituency, candidate Hameed Ali Bhatti has been served a notice for ethical misconduct. Meanwhile, a notice has also been issued to candidate Ahmed Chatha in NA-66, Wazirabad.
In Nankana Sahib's PP-133 constituency, candidate Noshir Maan is under scrutiny for wall chalking violations. Electoral candidates in Nankana Sahib have received warnings for distributing pamphlets and displaying boards without proper authorization.
Stringent measures have been taken in various cities, including Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sargodha, and Bhakkar, where unauthorized flexes and promotional materials have been removed.
Furthermore, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Nankana, Qasoor, Lahore, and Multan have witnessed the removal of unauthorized hoardings and billboards.
