Exposed wiring & open drains claim young lives in Karachi

Karachi, Mar 26: Two young men lost their lives in tragic incidents in Karachi on Tuesday morning,
According to police, in the first incident, 16-year-old youth, a resident of Ibrahim Haidari, was electrocuted near Defense area's Bada Bukhari. According to police reports, Krishan was with friends when the tragedy struck. Wet clothes from rain are suspected to have played a role as he came into contact with exposed wiring on a footpath electric pole. Police are investigating the incident further.
The second incident involved a 22-year-old man who fell into a drain near Shershah Pankha Hotel in Pak Colony area sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. The man has not been identified as no identification documents were found on his person. Chipa Welfare Organization volunteers retrieved the body from the drain and transported it to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The deaths of these two young men highlight the dangers posed by unattended electrical wiring and open drains in Karachi. Authorities are urged to take measures to improve safety standards in the city.
