Utility Stores to offer historic discounts on essential commodities during Ramadan

ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has given the nod to a Ramadan package worth over Rs. 7.49 billion, marking the largest relief initiative in the history of the country. The package, tailored for utility stores, aims to alleviate the financial burden on citizens during the holy month.
Scheduled to kick off from March 4, the Ramadan relief package will extend until Chand Raat, providing essential commodities at discounted rates. Utility stores officials reveal that 19 basic necessities, including flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, and pulses, will be offered at reduced prices through targeted subsidies.
Moreover, discounts will also be extended to items such as dates, besan, milk, beverages, and spices, ensuring a comprehensive approach to affordability for consumers. Beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will additionally receive targeted subsidies as part of the Ramadan package.
In an effort to extend the benefits to all consumers, utility stores will also introduce special discounted prices for the general public, enhancing accessibility to essential goods during the month of Ramadan.
