Faisalabad police launches crackdown on kite makers, 12 Arrested
FAISALABAD, Feb 13: Faisalabad Police has initiated a rigorous crackdown on kite makers, leading to the arrest of 12 individuals and the recovery of 15 thousand kites and 500 string wheels.
Under the directives of Faisalabad's Chief Police Officer (CPO) Mohammad Ali Zia, law enforcement authorities have intensified efforts against kite makers and sellers across the district. The arrested individuals were apprehended from various police stations within the district, where they were found engaged in the production and sale of kites and strings.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Anti-Kite Flying Act, and legal procedures have commenced accordingly. A spokesperson for the City Police Faisalabad emphasized that CPO Muhammad Ali Zia has instructed to sustain the crackdown, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards the dangerous activity of kite flying. It was further asserted that stringent actions will be taken not only against kite flyers but also against those involved in the production and distribution of kites.
The crackdown underscores the authorities' commitment to curbing the hazardous practice of kite flying, which poses significant risks to public safety.
