Fawad Chaudhry predicts government collapse within 45 days

Islamabad, Sep 19: Former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry has predicted the end of the government within 45 days, citing growing national support behind the lawyers' movement.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad on Thursday, Chaudhry announced his backing for the lawyers' protests, stating that "all of Pakistan stands behind the legal fraternity." He emphasized that the country’s senior-most judge would rightfully become the next Chief Justice of Pakistan, dismissing the proposed constitutional amendments as self-serving rather than beneficial for the nation.
“These are not constitutional amendments but a PCO (Provisional Constitutional Order). The amendments aim to remove undesired judges and appoint favorable ones,” he said, referencing Nawaz Sharif’s presence in Islamabad to cast his vote in favor of the changes. “The entire nation is supporting the Supreme Court. The foundational structure of Pakistan’s Constitution cannot be altered,” Chaudhry added, reiterating his prediction that the government would collapse within 45 days.
Chaudhry further criticized the government's actions against the Supreme Court, saying, “The government collided with the Supreme Court, but the impact has left them dizzy. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was celebrating, yet now he claims no involvement with the constitutional amendments.”
Highlighting the state of democracy, Chaudhry mocked the current Prime Minister’s position, saying, “A Prime Minister with only 18 seats has turned democracy into a spectacle. No one has even read the constitutional amendments.” He warned that the government was shaken by the thought of releasing PTI Chairman Imran Khan from Adiala Jail, predicting mass public rallies if Khan is freed.
The former minister concluded by denouncing ongoing propaganda and arrests, saying these tactics were deepening divisions within the country and would not sustain governance.
