FBR Extends Sales Tax, Excise Return Deadline to March 27

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing sales tax and federal excise returns until March 27, 2025, to facilitate taxpayers.

According to an official notification, the deadline for submitting returns for February 2025, originally set for March 18, 2025, has been extended by nine days. The decision was made under *Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act 1990 and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act 2005.

FBR officials stated that the extension aims to ease difficulties faced by taxpayers, allowing them more time to comply without penalties.

Taxpayers are urged to take advantage of the extended deadline to avoid fines and ensure timely submission. The FBR routinely grants such extensions to support businesses in fulfilling their tax obligations smoothly.
