FBR introduces "Pakistan Honor Card" scheme for top taxpayers
ISLAMABAD, April 05 : The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the launch of the Pakistan Honor Card Scheme for the tax year 2023. This initiative aims to recognize and reward top taxpayers across various sectors in the country.
In a recent notification, the FBR announced that taxpayers awarded the Pakistan Honor Card will be entitled to a range of privileges and facilities for a duration of one year from the issuance date. This scheme is aimed at recognizing the top taxpayers across various sectors, who will receive the prestigious honor from the Prime Minister at the Tax Excellence Award ceremony.
The scheme, applicable for the Tax Year 2023, targets key contributors in sectors such as steel, metal products, paper, plastic, chemicals, food products, leather, machinery, pharmaceuticals, sports goods, and information technology. A total of nine major exporters from steel and metal products, along with two exporters from each of the aforementioned sectors, will be granted the Pakistan Honor Card.
This initiative underscores the government's commitment to fostering a culture of tax compliance and rewarding exemplary taxpayers. It aims to incentivize top taxpayers and exporters by offering them special privileges and facilities. Notably, recipients of the Pakistan Honor Card will have access to VIP lounges at all airports and expedited clearance at immigration counters.
The introduction of the Pakistan Honor Card scheme reflects the government's dedication to recognizing and supporting the vital role played by taxpayers in driving economic growth and development.
