Federal Cabinet Approves merger of 82 Institutions into 40
ISLAMABAD, Aug 28: The Federal Cabinet has approved a sweeping institutional reform plan, approving the merger and dissolution of 82 government institutions into just 40. This decision follows the recommendations of the Cabinet Committee for Right Sizing, led by the Finance Minister, and was confirmed during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
In the first phase of implementation, the reforms will impact six ministries, streamlining operations to enhance efficiency. A committee will be established to safeguard the interests of employees affected by these changes.
The reforms focus on digitization, smart management, and efficient governance, promising faster project implementation and improved public services. The initiative aims to streamline operations, optimize manpower, and enhance policy-making efficiency, reducing delays and strengthening essential departments.
