Federal Police Enforces Strict Social Media Policy Under Establishment Division's Directive

ISLAMABAD, Sep 24: In a move to regulate the conduct of federal police personnel online, a new social media policy has been introduced following directives from the Establishment Division.

According to the official notification, police officers and personnel are prohibited from expressing personal opinions on any media platform without prior departmental approval. They are also barred from writing articles or publishing opinions without formal consent.

The policy further restricts officers and personnel from using police uniforms, official vehicles, or government buildings for personal promotional content, including videos or photographs. Additionally, sharing any confidential or official information on social media is strictly prohibited.

Officers and personnel are forbidden from expressing political or religious views on any media platform. The only authorized channel for public communication regarding police activities will be through the Public Relations Officer from the Inspector General's office.

Any officer wishing to make a public statement must first seek approval through their respective DIG via the IG office's Public Relations Officer. Commanding officers will be held responsible for ensuring their subordinates comply with the new policy. Violations will result in strict departmental actions.
