FIA releases travel agent detained with 49 passports at Karachi Airport
KARACHI, April 13: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has released Mohammad Adnan, a travel agent, who was earlier detained at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport for carrying 49 Pakistani passports. Adnan's release came after the FIA verified his legal authorization to possess the passports for visa processing in Iran.
Mohammad Adnan was apprehended by FIA officials at Karachi airport after 49 Pakistani passports were found in his possession.
The FIA conducted a thorough investigation to authenticate the legitimacy of Adnan's possession of the passports.
Adnan is a certified travel agent with permits from both the Iranian embassy and Pakistan's Foreign Office. He is authorized to handle passport submissions for Pakistani citizens who are applying for visas to Georgia.
Given that Georgia does not have an embassy in Pakistan, passport submissions for visa processing are directed through the Georgian embassy in Tehran, Iran. Adnan was transporting the 49 passports for this specific purpose.
After verifying Adnan's permits and the intended purpose of transporting the passports, the FIA released him from custody.
Authorities have indicated that Adnan will be permitted to continue his journey to Iran after completing any necessary legal procedures.
