LAHORE, Sep 24: A case has been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, including Alia Hamza, for allegedly helping PTI leader Hammad Azhar escape police custody.

The FIR, filed at Lahore's Kahna police station, names PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz, Alia Hamza, and 30 to 40 other PTI members. The charges stem from an incident during a PTI rally where Hammad Azhar, who is wanted by the authorities, was on stage.

According to the FIR, when police attempted to arrest Azhar by removing him from the stage, Sheikh Imtiaz, Alia Hamza, and others intervened and forcibly freed him. Azhar then escaped in a vehicle, while PTI workers allegedly tore police uniforms during the scuffle.
