German tourist attacked and robbed in Lahore: police launch manhunt
LAHORE, Aug 03: A German tourist, 27-year-old Berg Florian from Diyarbakir, was brutally robbed while camping near Lahore's airport. The cyclist was attacked by two armed men who stole expensive mobile phones, cash, and a camera valued at 500,000 Pakistani rupees.
Florian, who was assaulted and left injured, managed to ride his bicycle to a nearby Rangers office before collapsing. Eyewitnesses quickly transported him to a hospital for treatment.
The German tourist claimed that when he sought help from the patrolling Dolphin Force, they demanded money and failed to take action. Florian and witnesses subsequently filed a complaint at the North Cantonment Police Station.
The police are actively pursuing the culprits with the aid of CCTV footage and other resources. A case has been registered against two unidentified suspects, and a special team led by SDP North Kent is working to apprehend them. SP Cantt Owais Shafiq assured that the accused will be arrested and brought to justice promptly.
Florian reported that the thieves, who attacked him while he was sleeping in a park, forcibly took his iPhone, 500 US dollars, 5,000 Pakistani rupees, and a camera, and also assaulted him.
