Government's Deadline Over: Public Backlash Will Teach a Lesson, Says JI Leader Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Sep 24: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Deputy Chief Liaqat Baloch has warned the government that the deadline to fulfill the agreement between the two parties has expired, and now the public's reaction will teach the government a lesson.

The agreement, which included providing relief to the public on electricity bills, led to JI ending its sit-in at Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi, after giving the government time to act.

In his statement, Liaqat Baloch, head of JI’s negotiation team, said that 45 days have passed since the agreement was reached, but now the public will respond to the government’s inaction. He added that JI will not back down from its principled stance and that a government that fails to keep its promises will face public anger.

Baloch further stated that a government with a disputed mandate has no right to pass constitutional amendments, and those benefiting from such controversial amendments will also lose their credibility. He concluded by urging patriotic Pakistanis to join JI, emphasizing that JI's doors are open to all who wish to support the nation's strength.
