Gujranwala police arrest mercenary killer “Shahu” in joint operation

GUJRANWALA, May 21: Gujranwala Police have apprehended Shahnawaz alias Shahu Cheema, a suspected mercenary killer believed to be involved in five murders across the district.
According to police on Tuesday, the arrest was a culmination of joint efforts by the Police Station Sadar and CIA Police Gujranwala teams, who employed "modern technology and effective strategy" according to a press release.
Shahnawaz is accused of being part of a group responsible for the murders of Irfan and Usman in the Sadar police station area, Ayesha and Rani in the Ferozwala police station area, and Ramsha Munir in Daska. While his accomplices were previously apprehended, Shahnawaz remained at large until his recent capture.
SP Civil Line Bilal Mahmood Silhari commended the officers involved in the operation, highlighting their professionalism and strategic use of technology. Social and political figures along with local residents have also lauded the police for their success in apprehending the suspect.
The CPO (Chief Police Officer) assured the public that Shahnawaz will be brought to justice, reflecting the department's commitment to tackling serious crimes like murder.
