Imran Khan claims he’s being intimidated by General Faiz Hameed's trial
RAWALPINDI, Sep 06: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has alleged that he is being intimidated through the trial of General (R) Faiz Hameed. Speaking to journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan criticized the exclusion of General (R) Bajwa from the inquiry, calling it a deliberate act of malice. He asserted that the trial of General Faiz Hameed is being used to intimidate him.
Khan expressed his discontent with the current administration, stating, “Congratulations to the rulers on their NRO 2. White-collar crime, which was once difficult to tackle, has now become nearly impossible.” He accused the government of securing NRO 2 to protect cases from their tenure and criticized the unprecedented move of lawmakers legislating to end their own corruption cases.
On the role of the military, Khan noted that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has declared the army as neutral and apolitical. He stated that if the military is indeed becoming neutral and apolitical now, it would be a significant service to the nation. However, he claimed that any assertion of inherent neutrality by the military would be misleading.
Khan also addressed internal party issues, defending Ali Amin Gandapur against criticism from some PTI members. He reaffirmed his support for Gandapur, stating, “I selected Ali Amin Gandapur and stand with him. Those conspiring against him should know that no one wins with their money. Everyone who won did so on my ticket. If they continue their scheming, they should not expect tickets in future elections.”
