Imran Khan, PTI leaders acquitted in Aabpara protest case
ISLAMABAD, July 03: The District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad have acquitted all accused, including PTI founder Imran Khan, in the case filed at the Aabpara police station. Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood announced the reserved verdict, leading to the acquittal of several prominent PTI leaders.
The acquitted individuals include Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rasheed, Shehryar Afridi, Faisal Javed, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Ali Nawaz Awan, and Asad Qaiser, among others. Legal arguments on behalf of Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid, and the others were presented by Sardar Busy Advocate and Ansar Kayani.
The case was originally registered against Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid, and others for their protest against the Election Commission's decision. The court's decision marks a significant development in the political landscape, clearing key PTI figures of the charges.
