Islamabad High Court Orders Removal of PTI Leader Shibli Faraz's Name from ECL
Islamabad, Aud 02: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the removal of PTI leader Shibli Faraz's name from the Exit Control List (ECL). Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri presided over the hearing of Shibli Faraz's petition challenging the travel ban. Shibli Faraz appeared in court alongside his lawyer.
During the proceedings, the petitioner's lawyer argued that Shibli Faraz is currently on bail in four FIRs. Justice Jahangiri inquired from the government lawyer about the grounds for the travel restriction. The government lawyer responded that they would comply with the court's orders.
Justice Jahangiri remarked that the Ministry of Interior and the Director General of Passports had failed to satisfy the court. The IHC ordered that Shibli Faraz's name be removed from the ECL within a week and instructed the DG Passports and DG FIA to submit a compliance report to the court.
