Islamabad High Court summons IG over inaction in missing citizen Faizan recovery case

ISLAMABAD, Sep 11 : Justice Babar Sattar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) summoned the Inspector General of Islamabad Police after expressing frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation of missing citizen Faizan's recovery. The hearing was held on a petition filed by Faizan's father, Usman Khan, represented by lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Chattha. State counsel and police officials were also present in court.

During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel informed the court that Faizan was released on Monday morning. The court then questioned the police on whether any investigation had been conducted to determine who had taken Faizan and where he had been. The police admitted that no investigation had been completed yet, though a video had been uploaded.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of progress, the court inquired about the source of the video upload, to which police officials responded that they were in contact with IT experts. Justice Sattar, visibly displeased, remarked that four days had passed, yet no meaningful investigation had been done.

The court then adjourned the session and summoned the IG Islamabad for further proceedings.
