JIT Receives Records of 519 Social Media Users in Anti-Judiciary Campaign

Islamabad, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has received records of 519 social media users engaged in a campaign against the judiciary and Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa. The Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cybercrime Team conducted the investigation, identifying accounts responsible for insulting the High Judiciary.

The FIA's cyber team shared its findings with the JIT, revealing that 308 accounts defamed a political party following a decision. Additionally, 211 accounts have been running anti-judiciary campaigns for several months. The report specifies that 27 official accounts of a political party, 47 party leaders, 57 ticket holders, and 103 supporters have organized anti-judiciary posts on social media.

Among those identified, 187 users, including journalists, TV anchors, YouTubers, and social media activists, participated in the anti-judiciary campaign both domestically and internationally. The report highlights 309 Twitter accounts, 115 YouTubers, TikTokers, and Facebook users involved in the campaign.

The investigation further details that 37 accounts carried the flag of a political party, 27 spread propaganda from abroad, and 97 accounts remain unidentified or are suspected to be fake. The JIT is expected to take action against those responsible for defamation in the anti-judiciary campaign.
