Karsaz accident: New details emerge from medical report

The medical report of Natasha, the accused in the Karsaz accident case, has brought new revelations to light.

The report shows that after the tragic incident, Natasha’s blood and urine samples were tested, revealing the presence of ice, a banned substance, in her urine. This detail has been kept confidential for the time being but is now part of the ongoing investigation and will be presented in court.

The Karachi police have decided to form a special investigation team to thoroughly probe the Karsaz accident, in which Natasha is charged with causing the deaths of Imran Arif, 60, and his daughter Amna Arif, on August 19. The team has gathered all available CCTV footage and is currently analyzing it.

Natasha’s statements have been inconsistent, according to the police. She was reportedly traveling from her home in DHA Scheme-I to her in-laws’ residence, just 3-4 kilometers away, when the accident occurred. The vehicle involved is registered under a private company’s name.

New legal developments include adding Section 322 Qatal-bis-Sabab to the case, which could lead to a prison sentence of 10 to 18 years. Additionally, the victim’s family may choose to settle the case through diyat (blood money), which would require Natasha to compensate them with approximately Rs 6.8 million, equivalent to 30,360 grams of silver.

If the family agrees to this settlement, the case might be resolved. Meanwhile, the police are continuing their search for additional CCTV footage and are encouraging anyone who was injured or had property damaged in the accident to come forward and provide their statements.
