Khawaja Asif Criticizes PTI Leadership and Advocates for Political Stability

In a recent address in London, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif described the current government as a “hybrid model,” highlighting the collaboration between civilian leadership and the military to address national challenges. He emphasized that this partnership aims to steer the country out of crises, contrasting it with the previous PTI government’s approach, which he referred to as a “so-called hybrid” model.

Asif also commented on the political landscape, stating that PTI founder Imran Khan’s apology would not restore his political power, given the serious allegations against him. He criticized Khan for attempting to return to power after what he termed as “crimes against the state,” asserting that such actions have consequences.

Addressing the situation in Balochistan, Asif condemned the violence perpetrated by banned outfits, particularly the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He warned that those responsible for killing Pakistanis would face repercussions, while also emphasizing that the province’s issues cannot be resolved through force alone, but require political solutions.

Regarding former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s health, Asif confirmed that Sharif is undergoing medical treatment in London, with daily appointments scheduled. He described their recent meeting as productive and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing national issues through collaborative efforts.

Asif’s statements reflect the government’s stance on key political and security matters, underscoring a commitment to national unity and the rule of law.
