KP Forms 6-Member Committee to Curb Overcharging in fares During Eid-ul-Fitr

PESHAWAR, April 06: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has established a six-member committee within the transport department to tackle overcharging during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday.
The committee, comprised of transport department officials including Deputy Director Admin Salman Nisar and Assistant Director Ruidad Khan, is tasked with ensuring citizens are not subjected to excessive fares.
"A divisional-level committee has been formed to address citizens' complaints promptly," the transport department announced. The committee will investigate and take immediate action on reports of inflated fares at bus stations across the province.
To ensure compliance with official rates, the committee will be operational until April 16th. They are required to submit documented and photographic evidence of their inspections and interventions to the Transport Department.
This initiative aims to prevent travelers from being exploited during the peak travel period associated with Eid al-Fitr.
