KPK Chief Minister demands Removal of Chief Secretary in Letter to Federal Government
Peshawar, March 12: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has officially requested the federal government to dismiss Nadeem Aslam from his position as Chief Secretary of the province. In a letter addressed to the federal authorities, Chief Minister Gandapur has also proposed the appointment of Shahab Ali Shah as the new Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The decision follows earlier directives issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to prepare documentation pertaining to financial matters with the federal government.
During a crucial meeting chaired by Chief Minister Gandapur in Peshawar, it was unanimously agreed that if the federal government fails to address their concerns, legal recourse will be pursued through the courts.
The meeting served as a platform for detailed discussions regarding the province's outstanding dues and other financial obligations owed by the federation. According to briefing materials presented during the session, the province is owed a significant sum of 1510 billion rupees under the hydropower formula, with an additional 6 billion rupees outstanding for electricity sold to the National Grid.
In response, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur instructed relevant authorities to devise a comprehensive action plan to advocate for the province's rights at the federal level. Emphasizing the importance of effective representation, Gandapur urged the procurement of expert services to effectively raise the issue and assert their constitutional rights.
