LHC rejects CCPO over misreported drug case bail hearing
LAHORE, Aug 28: The Lahore High Court has rejected the Lahore CCPO's report during a bail hearing for drug case defendants, demanding the officer's reappearance with an accurate report.
Chief Justice Alia Neelam presided over the case involving Shakeel and other accused, issuing a stern rebuke to AIG Legal Mohammad Hussain Chauhan for his misleading report. The court criticized the CCPO for presenting information that contradicted the facts and for misinterpreting court proceedings.
The court questioned the credibility of the police's claim that they were present during the hearing despite the public prosecutor's absence. The petitioners argue that incomplete police investigations and missing records have unjustly denied them bail in drug-related cases.
