RAWALPINDI, A massive fire erupted on Sunday in a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder storage facility located in Gulzar Quaid Nawaz Colony, near Airport police station. The incident sent shockwaves through the densely populated area as LPG cylinders exploded repeatedly.
The fire reportedly originated in the agency located on the ground floor of a three-story building. Alarms blared from a nearby mosque as residents scrambled for help to extinguish the flames. Thankfully, firefighters from Rescue 1122 arrived swiftly and managed to contain the blaze before it engulfed nearby structures.
Dramatic footage of the event captured the terrifying scene, showcasing the initial inferno followed by a series of ear-splitting explosions as LPG cylinders detonated.
One person sustained burn injuries during the incident and received first aid before being transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The fire also caused significant damage to the building itself, while two motorcycles parked nearby were reduced to ashes.
According to Rawalpindi police officials, preliminary investigations suggest an electrical short circuit may have triggered the fire. However, a more thorough investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause.
