Maryam Nawaz Inaugurates country,s First Hybrid Double-Decker Buses in Punjab

LAHORE, Sep 26: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz officially launched Pakistan's first-ever fleet of five hybrid double-decker buses.
During the event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inspected the hybrid double-decker bus and even took a ride. Officials provided her with a detailed briefing on the new buses. It was revealed that Lahore’s double-decker bus service originally began in November 2015 under the tenure of former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, offering tourists, diplomats, state guests, and the general public scenic tours of the city’s landmarks.
The briefing also highlighted that three new hybrid double-decker buses will operate on newly designated tourism routes in Lahore. Additionally, one bus each will be introduced in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi, with plans to launch double-decker services for tourism in Multan and Faisalabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her commitment to expanding the fleet, promising more modern and eco-friendly buses to promote metropolitan tourism across Punjab.
Notable attendees included Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Uzma Bukhari, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, MPA Sania Ashiq, the Chief Secretary, and other officials.
