Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid challenges PP-169 Election results in High Court

Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid, an independent candidate supported by Tehreek-e-Insaf from PP-169 Lahore, has filed a legal challenge against the victory of Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Khalid Khokhar in the Lahore High Court. The challenge centers around discrepancies between Form 45 and Form 47, as well as alleged irregularities in the election process.

Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid, through a petition filed in the Lahore High Court, has named the Returning Officer, Election Commission, and other relevant parties as respondents. The crux of the petitioner's argument lies in the contention that Khalid Khokhar's self-declaration as the winner in Form 47 contradicts the findings of Form 45, which reportedly favored Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid.

The petitioner alleges collusion between Khalid Khokhar and the Returning Officer, resulting in the wrongful declaration of Khokhar as the victor. Seeking judicial intervention, Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid urges the court to mandate the release of results based on Form 45 and to prevent the Election Commission from finalizing the outcome until the matter is adjudicated.

Additionally, the petition calls for a recount in the disputed constituency and requests the Lahore High Court to nullify the results of Form 47. The petition underscores the importance of upholding electoral integrity and ensuring transparency in the electoral process.
