Missing persons commission head Justice (retd) Faqir Khokhar passes away
Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar – the newly appointed head of Pakistan’s Missing Persons Commission – passed away on Wednesday at the age of 80.
Justice Khokhar – who had been battling health issues for some time – was appointed to the commission only a week ago.
At the time of his appointment, he was undergoing treatment at Services Hospital in Lahore and there had been growing concerns over his health.
His funeral will be held today in Lahore with the funeral prayer scheduled for 4:15 PM following the Asr prayer.
The Missing Persons Commission, tasked with investigating enforced disappearances, was first established in 2010, under the leadership of Justice (retd) Kamal Mansoor Alam.
