MQM Demands Sindh Governorship in Potential PML-N Government Deal

Lahore, Feb 11: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has reportedly made a bold demand during their meeting with the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leadership in Lahore. According to sources, MQM has requested the governorship of Sindh in exchange for supporting the formation of a PML-N government at the federal level.

Details emerged after a 50-minute meeting between delegations from both parties. Although the official outcomes remain undisclosed, sources claim MQM presented a list of demands, with the governorship of Sindh being the most significant.
According to sources privy to the meeting, the guest delegation from MQM departed after a 50-minute deliberation with the Muslim League-N representatives. During this time, MQM presented a list of demands to Nawaz Sharif, highlighting their aspiration for the governorship of Sindh in the event of a PML-N-led government formation. Both parties have mutually agreed to forge a collaborative partnership in the future.

The sources further revealed that MQM's inclusion in federal development projects in Karachi is assured, underscoring a joint commitment from PML-N and MQM to engage in the consultation process for government formation, a move buoyed by their respective supporters.

Nawaz Sharif directed Shahbaz Sharif to play a mediating role between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and MQM, signaling a proactive approach towards fostering reconciliation and cooperation between the two parties.

Additionally, the political entities deliberated on a cohesive action plan aimed at steering the country out of its current challenges, signifying a collaborative effort towards national progress and stability.
