Musadik meets with Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group to strengthen energy collaboration
Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik visited Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. in Shaanxi Province, China, to foster deeper collaboration between Pakistan and China in energy, petrochemicals, and sustainable industrial development.
Dr. Malik was warmly welcomed by Zhao Futang, the General Manager of the company, along with senior executives who shared insights about their operations. The minister received a thorough overview of the company’s projects, from coal mining to petrochemical processing, as well as their initiatives in clean energy technologies.
As one of China’s largest state-owned enterprises, Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group has significant investments in coal, chemicals, and new energy sectors. This visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in coal, and both sides engaged in meaningful discussions about potential partnerships, including coal-to-chemicals technology and joint ventures.
The meeting also included representatives from the Thar Coal Board, Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, and Sindh’s Energy Department, highlighting a collective commitment to exploring new opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the energy sector.
