Nadia Hussain Acknowledges Receiving Funds from Husband Amid FIA Bank Fraud Probe

Pakistani model and actress Nadia Hussain has recorded her statement with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with an ongoing bank fraud case implicating her husband, Atif Khan. The high-profile case involves alleged misappropriation of over Rs1.2 billion.

Actress Denies Knowledge of Fraud

Appearing before the FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle, Nadia Hussain confirmed that she had received financial support from her husband to launch and expand her salon and spa business. However, she firmly denied any awareness of the origin of the funds.

“I was never part of any fraud,” Hussain stated during the two-hour inquiry session. “I had no knowledge of any fraudulent activities my husband may have been involved in.”

She added that her business is registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the financial assistance she received was declared as a loan in her tax filings.

According to FIA officials, Nadia Hussain has emerged as a key beneficiary in the fraud investigation. Authorities revealed that approximately Rs26.4 million was funneled into her business accounts through two bank accounts linked to her husband between 2019 and recent years. The transfers occurred in 19 separate transactions.

The funds were reportedly used to open and operate two branches of her salon, with the FIA scrutinizing both personal and business account activity as part of their probe.

Husband Accused of Large-Scale Financial Misconduct

Atif Khan, who remains in FIA custody, is accused of orchestrating a Rs540 million scheme involving fraudulent bank charges to offset business losses. Investigators allege he redirected over Rs110 million into personal accounts and misused company resources, resulting in a total estimated loss of Rs1.2 billion to the firm he worked for.

Personal Background

Nadia Hussain and Atif Khan were married in 2003 and share four children: Shadal, Shanza, Sasha, and Sherdad.

As the investigation unfolds, the FIA continues to gather statements and forensic evidence related to the case. No formal charges have been filed against Nadia Hussain as of now, and her cooperation remains under review.
