National Drug Survey Set to Combat Drug Menace After 11 Years
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to embark on a crucial mission to combat drug abuse with the launch of the National Drug Survey, marking the first comprehensive survey in 11 years.
Chaired by Federal Minister of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Mohsin Naqvi, a high-level committee convened to plan the survey, attended by key officials including Federal Secretary Interior and other senior officials.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the survey's significance in collecting data on drug users nationwide, spanning homes, educational institutions, slums, and other locales. He underscored the survey's role in facilitating informed decisions in anti-narcotics efforts, crucial for safeguarding the nation's future.
Directing swift action, Naqvi instructed finalization of survey-related matters within 15 days, urging collaboration between the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics to establish survey methodologies, data requirements, sample formats, and timelines.
The initiative follows the last National Drug Survey conducted in 2013, reflecting a renewed national commitment to tackling drug abuse effectively.
