Pakistan Extends Stay of Registered Afghan Refugees for One Year

Islamabad: The federal government has extended the stay of registered Afghan refugees in Pakistan by one year, with the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRAN) issuing a notification to this effect.

According to notification the extension will be in effect from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. The extension applies to Afghan refugees legally residing in Pakistan, whose registration cards were set to expire on June 30, 2024.

Currently, there are approximately 1.45 million registered Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
