Pakistan Seeks Stronger Bilateral Ties with Trump Administration, PM Sharif Reaffirms

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its bilateral relations with the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump. In a meeting with a U.S. delegation, led by Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official and Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, Sharif emphasized the importance of working closely with the Trump administration to foster stronger diplomatic, economic, and security ties.

During the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum in Islamabad, Sharif highlighted the significant potential of U.S.-Pakistan cooperation, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, and counter-terrorism. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to collaborate with the Trump administration to build a more robust and mutually beneficial relationship.

Eric Meyer, Acting Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of State, congratulated Pakistan on successfully hosting the forum and expressed strong interest from U.S. companies in the country’s mineral resources.
