Pakistani Madrassa Claims World Record for Hafiz Quran Graduates

MULTAN, Qari Hafeez Jalandhri, a representative for Pakistan's Wafaq-ul-Madaris, announced an impressive accomplishment by a Pakistani madrassa. The madrasa has broken the world record by graduating over 1 million Hafiz Quran, a significant milestone in Quranic education.
The madrassa, affiliated with the Wafaq-ul-Madaris, has been instrumental in facilitating the memorization of the Holy Quran since the introduction of its examination system in 1982. Over the years, more than one million students worldwide have successfully completed the rigorous memorization process under its tutelage.
In a testament to the institution's dedication, over 78,000 students, including 14,000 females, attained the esteemed title of Hafiz Quran in 2019 alone. Remarkably, children as young as four years old are enrolled in these madrassas, completing the memorization of the Quran within a span of two to two and a half years.
Jalandhri drew attention to the comparison between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in terms of Quranic education, noting that despite Arabic not being the national language of Pakistan, the country surpasses Saudi Arabia in the number of Hafiz Quran produced annually. While Saudi Arabia produces only 5,000 Hafiz Quran each year, Pakistan's madrassa system has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to Quranic memorization on a much larger scale.
