PCB Announces Pindi Cricket Stadium as Venue for President's Trophy Final"
LAHORE, Feb 03: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the final match of the President's Trophy 2023-24 will take place at Pindi Cricket Stadium. The much-anticipated clash between Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) is scheduled to unfold from February 9 to 13.
Initially slated to commence on January 27 at the National Bank Cricket Arena, the final was postponed due to scheduling conflicts with the Sindh Premier League (SPL). Following the adjustment, PCB released the anticipated dates for the finals (between 6th and 10th) and subsequently revealed Pindi Cricket Stadium as the chosen venue.
Seven departmental teams engaged in an exhilarating seven-round tournament, each playing six games in the lively city of Karachi. WAPDA emerged as the table topper, accumulating an impressive 62 points from seven matches, while SNGPL secured the second spot with 57 points from an equal number of matches. The final showdown of the President's Trophy is set to feature on-field umpires Mohammad Sajid and Waleed Yaqoob, with Nadeem Arshad serving as the match referee.
